VOID - One Year Of Silence
VOID is best viewed on a big screen, lights down, speakers up, in your own suspended present moment. Shot in empty night clubs across England, capturing their emptiness during the depths of a pandemic winter 2020/21. The piece was featured by Resident Advisor on 25th March 2021 to mark the 12 month anniversary of the first lockdown in England. A donations page was created to raise money in support of suicide prevention charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). CALM is leading a movement against suicide — offering life saving services, provoking national conversation and bringing people together to empower everyone to reject living miserably and stand together against suicide.
Directors: Tom Andrew and Sam Davis
Music: Daniel Avery
We made the film with the approach that it’s neither optimistic nor pessimistic and doesn’t look backwards or forwards, to represent the suspended atmosphere of the present
